Bio

I was thrilled to be in the Sumner & Dene show Churches of New Mexico in Oct. 2019, and my painting of the San Jose De Gracia church sold during the opening reception. Sumner & Dene Art gallery located at 517 Central Ave. (87102) has a local focus, and is always a fun place to shop, a true treasure in the downtown area featuring fine art, unusual jewelry, ceramics, furniture and everything in between. 

I'm a self taught artist and I currently live in Rio Rancho New Mexico. I was born on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, and moved with my family in 1968 to Taos, New Mexico, and have called New Mexico home ever since. 

It was  in Taos where I was bitten by the art bug. 

Art has been my passion since my youth, and I am truly inspired by the beauty of the southwest, including the old villages and historic adobe churches. I also love to paint crows and other birds, sugar skulls, animals, windows, flowers, tea cups, old cars and trucks, and some whimsical art.

I am inspired by a favorite quote by von Goethe:
